Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 28 August 2026

These terms govern your use of this website and the AWBMAMD Conference Portal, operated by Australian National Institute of Higher Education Trust (ABN 20 459 639 129), trading as the Academy of World Business, Marketing and Management Development ("the Academy", "we", "us").

By using this website, creating an account, submitting a paper or acting as a reviewer, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What this site provides

The public pages of this site hold information about the Academy, its conferences, its journals and its archive of past programmes. The Conference Portal is a members' area used to submit abstracts and papers, to carry out double-blind peer review, and to administer editorial decisions.

Content on the public pages is provided for general information. Conference dates, fees, deadlines and programme details may change, and the Academy will publish updates on the relevant conference page.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate details when you create an account, and keep them up to date in your profile. Each person may hold one account, and accounts must not be shared. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity carried out under your account.

We may suspend or close an account where these terms have been breached, where research or review misconduct is suspected, or where an account is used to impersonate another person.

3. Submitting work

When you submit an abstract, paper or proposal you confirm that:

  • the work is your own original work, or that all co-authors are properly credited and have approved the submission;
  • the work is not under consideration elsewhere at the same time, unless the call for papers expressly allows it;
  • you hold the rights needed to submit the work and to grant the licence in clause 5;
  • any use of artificial intelligence in preparing the work has been disclosed as required at submission;
  • the work does not infringe the rights of any third party, and is not defamatory or unlawful.

You consent to your manuscript being de-identified for double-blind review, and to it being read and assessed by the editors, track chairs and reviewers appointed by the Academy.

4. Peer review

Reviewers are appointed by invitation. If you review for the Academy, you agree to:

  • treat every manuscript, and everything in it, as confidential;
  • not copy, circulate, cite or make use of unpublished material you see while reviewing;
  • declare any conflict of interest and stand aside where one exists;
  • assess the work fairly, on its merits, and within the time allowed;
  • respect the anonymity of the process and not attempt to identify authors.

Reviews, scores and comments are prepared for the Academy's editorial process. Editors decide what feedback is released to authors.

5. Intellectual property

Authors keep copyright in their own work. By submitting, you grant the Academy a non-exclusive licence to store, reproduce, de-identify and distribute the work for the purposes of review, conference programming and, where accepted, publication in conference proceedings or an Academy journal.

The Academy's name, logo and the mark Academy of World Business, Marketing and Management Development are protected. Site text, images and design are owned by the Academy or its licensors and may not be reproduced commercially without written permission. You may quote or link to material with attribution.

6. Registration, fees and refunds

Acceptance of a paper does not constitute conference registration. At least one author must register and pay the applicable fee for a paper to appear in the programme. Fees, page charges and refund arrangements for each conference are published on that conference's registration page and form part of these terms.

7. Editorial decisions

Editorial decisions — acceptance, acceptance with modification, or rejection — are made by the Academy's editors and track chairs and are final. The Academy may withdraw a submission or a published paper where plagiarism, fabricated data, undisclosed conflicts or other misconduct is established.

8. Acceptable use

You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the portal, interfere with its operation, upload malicious files, scrape content at scale, or use the site to send unsolicited communications.

9. Availability and disclaimers

We aim to keep the site available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Content is provided "as is" and, to the extent permitted by law, without warranties of any kind.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Where our liability can be limited, it is limited to re-supplying the relevant service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

The site links to journals, universities and partner organisations. We are not responsible for the content or practices of sites we do not operate.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with the date it took effect. Material changes affecting submissions or review will be notified to account holders by email.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and the courts of Australia have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
